Coaching Philosophy
I help athletes at midlife and beyond get real with their goals and find themselves stronger. Running and fitness coaching is a partnership: I show up for you if you show up for you. I believe in coaching holistically by:
Considering your whole person and your unique phase of life
Aligning your training with your values and your why
guiding functional movement and strength
teaching sport-specific mental skills
supporting general wellness
designing customized training plans to build your fitness, confidence and joy
creating event-specific programs to help you crush your race or your general fitness goals
Building perimenopause/menopause-specific strength progressions, wellness roadmaps and a holistic health network
I like to think of myself as your fitness and running curator!
What I offer
1:1 coaching with tiered offerings. You deserve to give yourself a shot! I offer plans that coincide with your readiness while partnering with you to transform your fitness. I will help you set realistic goals and offer tools to grow running skills, strength and general fitness.
Custom movement prescriptions that make running fun. If you are a runner looking to crush your next race, a midlife run-curious newbie, or an athlete who needs to keep running interesting, I’ll make sure your plan includes elements that light you up.
Holistic, person-centered approach. Achieve your best life by being your best self. We can identify YOUR why and discover what’s possible based on your whole picture. Real goals to support your real life.
Functional wellness. Maybe you want to run a marathon…set a new 5K PR…improve your running form…build a strong body…carry grocery bags with ease…say yes to hiking with friends and know you can handle the hills. We can build a plan that incorporates the activities you enjoy with progressive improvements for your aspirations.
Mental skills for life through sport. It’s amazing what you learn about yourself on the run or in the gym. Building mental resilience is a reason to be proud of yourself and can be applied to all elements of life.
Perimenopause and Menopause specific progressions. Let’s face it, real answers are harder to find than they should be when it comes to women’s health at midlife. Not only do our bodies need individualized progressions, but we also need knowledge to advocate for our health in an effective way to our care providers. At FMR we are building a growing network of experts in all aspects of women’s health to support Real Girl Athletics.
Ready to Get Started?
My goal is to provide a holistic approach to help you thrive at midlife and beyond. Why?
Staying physically active with accountability = functional fitness. Run your best and be your strongest NOW!
Staying mentally engaged = motivation. Sport is medicine.
Staying socially active helps prevent cognitive decline. Sports keep you connected.
Advocating for your health = less stress. Knowing what to ask and approaching healthcare with confidence will get you better results.
Learning how to restore and recover = self-care. This includes rest, sleep, stress-management, mobility and nutrition.
Daring to start something new at midlife is brave yet completely doable. You got this!
All 1:1 coaching offerings will set you up for success by establishing a focus for each phase of your training. I want you to get the most out of your coaching partnership, and I find that a long-term commitment keeps you motivated, solidifies your fitness routine and provides a runway for transformation. While I don’t require you to lock in long-term payments (you pay as you go every 4 weeks), I know that results happen with consistency. Participating in your own strength and fitness progression is rewarding physically, mentally and emotionally. Give yourself six months and see what’s possible! We can discuss what a high-level, progressive program might look like on a consultation call.
