Hi friends! I’m Coach Hilary and I found myself running at 12 years old…and then again, and in a different way, at midlife. I’ve been a runner and competitor at different stages of life and I still run for joy…for the moving meditation…for the challenge…because I still can. Whether you are a new or seasoned runner, general fitness enthusiast or someone seeking to make fitness a vital part of your perimenopause/menopause journey, you belong here! I love the coaching partnership and I can’t wait to meet you.

Running is my happy place and my goal is to run joyfully and injury free…forever! I am a UESCA certified run coach with over 35 years of experience competing across different distances from the mile to the marathon and triathlon (Both Olympic and Half-ironman distances). I can help you build race-specific fitness and I specialize in beginner (yes! Even if you’ve never set foot on a track!), master’s, intermediate runners and plant-based athletes. If you are run-curious but haven’t taken the leap because you only see what might not be possible, let me help you reframe to see all that IS possible…and even joyful…and empowering…in running.
Let’s Talk Midlife for a Moment
This is Real Girl Athletics. When I realized I was in perimenopause, the lack of answers to my questions about something every woman will experience peaked my frustration. So…I hit the books and became NASM accredited coach through the Girls Gone Strong (GGS) Menopause Specialist certification to coach women in menopause through general fitness, strength progressions, wellness elements (such as sleep, stress and general nutrition), and health advocacy so that you can formulate better questions and have more productive visits with your health care providers. I am also building a network of specialists I trust so that you will have access to a variety of wellness professionals once you join an FMR program!
I believe in creating REAL fitness goals that work with your REAL life. And some goals that dare you to dream bigger.
